About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and multicolour flexographic printing machines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production deadlines.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine operator
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player in fast pace environment.
- Proven experience as a flexographic printer or similar role in a printing and packaging environment.
- Strong understanding of flexographic inks, stereo tapes and pantone colours.
- Ability to read and interpret job cards and printing specifications.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy printing equipment and operate printing equipment.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform housekeeping tasks, maintain and clean printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine maintenance including preventative maintenance on printing machines to ensure longevity and proper functioning.
- Set up and operate multicolour flexographic printing machines including mounting and setting of stereos to produce high-quality printed materials.
- Coordinate with production team to ensure timely completion of print orders.
- Monitor print quality throughout production run and perform adjustments as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during printing process.
- Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills & Competencies
- Self-driven and self-motivated with a passion for paper bag manufacturing or other packaging production environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer literacy (MS Office)
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to multitask and work independently under pressure
- Good planning and time management skills
