About You:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Be in possession of a valid firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS as per the new Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000 or the ability to obtain one within reasonable time in the use of handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle or carbine
Be in possession of a NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)
Be declared medically fit to work in a specific area
Have a valid Regulations 21 Certificate
Have a Clear Security Screening Record
Be in possession of a valid driver’s license
Have at least 5 years’ experience in a related role
Have Grade B registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure Safe handling of firearms by SPS personnel
Supervise the SSMS Personnel deployed at the shaft/zone and visit each person on a regular basis during the shift also signing his/her pocketbook when visiting, discuss information related to crime threats in that area
cEnforce compliance at shaft/zone and all other low risk and high-risk areas
Perform spot checks on waybills and report any irregularities to the Supervisor and oversee the effective and accurate release of waybills
Ensure that all registers, control sheets and occurrence books are completed, inspected, and the contents acknowledged as required
Ensure security incidents are raised and detected timeously and swift response to all alerts and incidents by relevant SPS Personnel
Conduct regular alarm testing and daily inspections
Compile effective and quality recording and reporting of all non-compliance, alerts, and incidents
Ensure execution of the Security Policy, Code of Conduct, Security Rules, Security Procedures and Standards
Ensure all escorts are conducted as set out by the relevant protocols
Submit risk assessments and identify equipment needs on a regular basis and submit reports to the Sectional Supervisor
Ensure execution of the Security Policy, Code of Conduct, Security Rules, Security Procedures and Standards
Distribute all relevant information, incident, and shift reports and conduct safe behavioural observation
