Job description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- To efficiently oversee the maintenance of facilities, equipment, and services for the KZN distribution centre, ensuring regulatory compliance while optimizing costs.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Monitor maintenance budgets, ensuring cost control and optimization.
- Responsible for the training, coaching, mentoring, and professional development of employees directly reporting to you.
- Integration with the various department managers in the DC to ensure the best utilization of facilities.
- Management of all service contractors through SLA’s and implement corrective actions when deviations from the SLA occur.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and standards.
- Lead and manage a team, including contractors and suppliers, ensuring high standards of performance and resolving conflicts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee facilities management projects, providing technical support as needed.
- Promote adherence to established processes for equipment maintenance and infrastructure upkeep.
- Investigate and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions based on best practices.
- Provide monthly reports on maintenance schedules for all technical assets and facilities maintenance projects.
- Support the business in driving continuous improvement in equipment and facility management services.
- Effectively use green area meeting to ensure the delivery of the team goals through relevant scorecards as per the strategy.
- Support the planned and preventative maintenance plans proactively.
- Support the management of equipment and facility maintenance at KZN DC to ensure optimal operational efficiency.

About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Ability to manage budgets and cost control.
- Proficiency in SAP or maintenance management systems (advantageous).
- 5 years of experience in technical maintenance, or facilities management.
- Strong understanding of maintenance, compliance, and supplier management processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
