We are hiring!
- We’re looking for an Artisan Assistant to support the safe execution of less complex maintenance tasks and assist Artisans with more advanced maintenance duties, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our equipment.
As an Artisan Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Ensure that the section complies in all respects with the relevant statutory requirements.
- Obtain licence as “authorised workman” as per Sappi lock out procedure and assist production personnel with isolation process where required.
- Assist Artisans with breakdowns and opportunity maintenance and perform tasks as per competency level.
- Comply with legislation - safe handling of, identifying, sorting and disposal of waste in correct waste streams.
- Correct selection and use of tools for the job and maintenance there-of.
- Obtain licences for various mobile equipment as found on Ngodwana Mill.
- Perform maintenance, assistance and repair of equipment concerning the fabrication workshop.
- Move and transport of equipment in the workplace as required.
- Ensure a safe working environment with the development of safety and housekeeping strategies.

About You:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Valid driving license.
- Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science or an N3 Engineering Science NQF L4 qualification.
- Fabrication experience would be advantageous.
