Job Description

A Code 10 Driver’s main function is to deliver goods safely from one destination to another, within the required time frame.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the correct quantities and loads are delivered
Safe truck operation, use of seat belts, no speeding, no use of electronic equipment, no eating, and no smoking
Ensuring vehicles are loaded correctly as well as checking documentation against the loads
Day to day inspection of the vehicle and reporting of all faults and serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel
Completing vehicle inspection sheet and refueling of vehicles
Comply with 5S standards for a clean, safe and orderly workplace
Check truck list and follow route to destination
Abide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act
Ensure all proof of deliveries are signed on delivery as well
Ensure adherence to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users
Abide by the company policies and the regulations of the road
Check the truck and load before going out on the road
Return of returned products, empty containers (lugs) and undelivered invoices
Must be willing to work Day/Night shift
Responsible for the vehicle – safe handling/operating of the vehicle
Communicate daily activities on the provided system
Report to work with all applicable PPE
Loading and off-loading of products including pallets
Complete the required documents accurately
Comply with the times and procedures, regulations, and correct use of resources
Punctual on every shift (able to report to work timeously even when called at early parts of the morning)
